It is safe to assume
that this Blog that has started as a class assignment on my social media image
will clearly catch on as a habit. In order to make this Blog a good habit I
want to propose certain stages of positive attitudes, at times aggressive,
but in a positive light. My value proposition of choice today is "PERSEVERE".
“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”
Perseverance is part of
the fighting spirit we all have as people, but it is your choice to embrace it
or falter it to submission. I personally like to compare the fighting
spirit to the image of Theodore Roosevelt. From an asthmatic child to a warrior
that created the first U.S. Volunteer Calvary Regiment famously known as the
Rough Riders; his words personify what perseverance mean to me. You can choose
to complain, criticize, or point blame in way of cowardice; you only persevere
by finding victory in your failures or recognizing the pain and blood in your
victories.
Many might ask “Hey Vik,
who cares about stubborn perseverance when it comes to Social Media, it’s all
about fun and bar talk”. First of all if you are persistent you can get out of
foolish social media habits and pick up some good ones through your channels of
good influence. Someone is always watching through the looking glass and
evaluating your brand, so why would you take a chance and taint your brand. There
might be many that have already created a social media reputation that is less
than admirable, but you always have the chance to fight out of it and re-brand…
through my professional career I have heard that it takes 21 days to form a
habit, so take the advantage and count 21 days of good influence and positive
branding.
All in all is fight for
what you want, and fight your way out of your mistakes; be valiant instead of
timid or else you will be eaten alive by all the evil that surrounds us. Focus
on the beautiful reasons that are worth protecting; many of you that know me
know her as the beautiful reason that I fight for, but regardless if it’s a her,
him, or it, find it and persevere for them.
